Album of Green Point Preserve Field Trip

Selected photos by Laurel Ramseyer and Rod Crawford from our 27 May 2023 spider collecting trip to Green Point Preserve, a privately owned nature reserve on the Strait of Juan de Fuca coast. It's managed by a foundation established by the orignal owners for educational purposes, and after some negotiations, they gave us permission to collect. In our one day we didn't do much more than scratch the surface of this great property, but we collected in beach and near-beach habitats, streamside maple forest, and from conifers on the summit of the point. Our total catch of 45 species included only two non-natives, several uncommon species, and three or more so unusual that further study will be needed to identify them.
