Album of Cavanaugh Lake Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 7 April 2022 spider collecting trip to Cavanaugh Lake along Forest Road 62, SE of Gold Bar, Snohomish County, Washington. For many years this road has been closed, with access by permit only; to my surprise, this spring the Forest Service web site said it was open, and sure enough it was! It was worth the wait, a very beautiful spot (especially for working forest), with riparian and upland habitats and a gravel pit; also surprising solitude most of the day. Conifer foliage had excellent spiders and other habitats were mostly OK, for a final total of 38 species.
