Album of Lena Creek Trail Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford from the 12 June 2026 spider collecting trip (with Kathy Whaley and student Sage Osterman) to the Lena Creek Trail (which goes to Lena Lake, though we didn't), Mason & Jefferson Counties, Washington. The trailhead is on the Hamma Hamma River road in the southeastern Olympic Mountains. We had to climb switchbacks for close to 1000' in elevation to get into the area I wanted to collect, and the sample was small (21 species), but it included a new state record of what appears to be Amaurobius borealis. Very interesting forest tracts to hike through, too.
