Selected photos by Rod
Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 6 October 2022 spider collecting trip to working-forest sites (chiefly Port Blakely Tree Farms property) along and near Langworthy Road in the extreme SW corner of Thurston County, Washington. Balked of our original destination by active logging, we found reasonable and accessible alternates nearby, beginning with what turned out to be an only 1-year-old clearcut, but with well-developed spider fauna. An old road took us into a young forest adjacent for different spiders, and a final site on a side road nearby added more for a satisfactory 39 species. The USGS map calls this gently rolling area with no summit, "Michigan Hill."
