Album of Glenoma Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford from the 4 April 2026 spider collecting trip (with Kathy Whaley, Jerry Austin and Carter Kitterman, a student from Bellingham) to sites near Glenoma, Lewis County, Washington (upstream from Riffe Reservoir). We started in a working forest area along Anderson Road, where the Rayonier company has imitated Weyerhaeuser's money-gouging permit system for access. Despite not having access to the interior of the forest, we did all right with good samples from tree foliage and moss along the county road. At our second main site (Tacoma city property near the reservoir) we sifted litter and swept grass, finally adding 2 species from buildings in a park, for a fine 48-species total. Our burger place was Spiffy's in Morton.
