Selected photos by Laurel Ramseyer and Rod
Crawford from our 9 May 2023 spider collecting trip to two cemeteries (primarily Bethel Church Cemetery east of Ridgefield), Clark County, Washington. We sought a basic spider sample (which we got), records of the undescribed cemetery vase spider (which we got), and introduced crab spider Ozyptila praticola (which we didn't get) — all according to Hoyle! The Bethel site wasn't as rich as some natural habitats, but produced 26 species (including uncommon Tricholathys rothi plus range extensions for two introduced salticids), adding to an old sample of house spiders for 31 total. A brief visit to a cemetery in Vancouver got more of the vase spider, though not much else.
