Album of Smackout Valley Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 6 October 2025 spider collecting trip (with Kathy Whaley) to Smackout Valley, NE of Colville, Stevens County, Washington. This oddly-named mountain meadow (with grazing cattle) yielded good spiders, both at the dry upper end and the wetter lower end, although that true wetland on the map eluded me. Lovely weather continued. This second day of the expedition began well with 27-29 species, several of them rare or unfamiliar.
