Album of Van Wyck Park Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford from my 24 May 2015 spider collecting trip with Della Scott to Van Wyck Park (not a park now but the proposed site of one) on King "Mountain", and the lower Nooksack River, both in Whatcom County, Washington. In a not-very-long day we boosted two adjacent grid-areas from 12 and 1 species respectively to 24 and 29. At the river site, nearly all species were from just two habitats, grass-sweeping and spruce-beating. Contrary to prediction, the day was sunny and everything turned out altogether pleasant.

Our second site, even more productive, was on the lowermost part of the Nooksack River at the Slater Road bridge.
