Album of Hornet Draw Field Trip
Selected photos (by Rod
Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer) from our 22 June 2011 spider collecting trip (with Jerry Austin) to Hornet Draw (in the Methow drainage), Okanogan County, Washington. (We also briefly visited a dry-land pine site near Crumbacker Lake en route.) Before heading home after the big trip, we just had time to supplement another 14-species sample from 1981. Admittedly, we chose Hornet Draw for our site because of the name – but saw no hornets (lots of mosquitos, though). A more mesic habitat allowed us to bring the sample up to 26 species in a bit under 2 hours. This is the last of 5 albums from our June 21-22 mini-expedition to the Okanogan Highlands.
