Album of Warrior Trail Field Trip
Our last stop on the 4th spider collecting trip (11 April
2008) of the Elwha River Biological Survey was on the east bank of the river's
estuary, reached via the Warrior Trail, a public nature trail maintained by
the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, whom
we thank for permission and helpful cooperation. The delta woodland festured
many small alders and willows with scattered large alder, cottonwood and maple
trees. Litter produced a few different species; the marshes along the shore
of the river's side channels promise to be a rewarding habitat a bit later in
the season. Photos by Rod Crawford and
Laurel Ramseyer.
