Album of Elwha Powerline Field Trip
The main collecting site on the 5th spider collecting trip
(23 April 2008) of the Elwha River Biological Survey was on the west bank of
the river at a powerline clearing south of US 101, where pitfall traps had previously
been placed. Despite uncertain weather, 32 spider species were taken in the
very mossy maple forest, while my colleagues Trevor and Luke hiked in to an
insect-trap site on the upper river. Photos by Rod
Crawford.
