Selected photos by Rod
Crawford from a 10 June 2013 spider collecting trip to clearcut regrowth and timberland on the south slope of Haywire Ridge, NE of Sultan, Snohomish County, Washington (westward over a grid boundary from the previous trip to the same area). The hike was even longer, but seemed easier. I successfully sampled grassy and conifer-foliage habitats in this area (missed last time), but invasive species affected the clearcut, and I didn't get as many spiders from vegetation as I hoped. Fortunately I was able to supplement that with a decent sift sample, for 27 species in all.
