Selected photos from a spider collecting field trip to West Winton railroad siding, Chelan County, Washington, 19 highway miles east of Stevens Pass, on 20 June 2009. Photos by Rod
Crawford and Della Scott, as credited. We originally planned a western Washington trip but weather and an inexorable Zipcar reservation forced a last minute change to a drier site that proved to have a surprisingly sparse spider fauna. However, it was a pleasant day and hard work gave us 22 species (including 2 that had to be reared to maturity). It was Jerry Austin's first spider collecting trip since 2005; he contributed a few good specimens, but was not photo-documented.
