Selected photos by Rod
Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 29 May 2018 spider collecting trip to Hydro Park (officially Kirby Billingsley Hydro Park), just south of East Wenatchee along the Columbia River, Douglas County, Washington. I selected this site (basically a narrow strip between a highway and the river/reservoir) because it was easy of access and we already had 15 spider species records from the area, some from a 2015 trip to a ridge nearby and some from an orchard study. I hoped we could bring this to a full sample in a half day; and this time it worked! We found enough habitats, even including some pine cones, in the generally well-groomed park to take 16 species making 29 with the prior records.
