Album of Friends Landing Park Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 13 July 2016 spider collecting trip to Friends Landing Park near the mouth of the Chehalis River, Grays Harbor County, Washington. A unique habitat of semi-tidal swamp (surrounding Lake Quigg), so densely forested with alder, willow, cottonwood, shrubs and a few spruce left over from the logging days, it felt like being in an old-movie jungle! We couldn't penetrate very far away from the trail/boardwalk, but still got 35-36 species, including a healthy sample of house spiders from buildings at the Lake Quigg campground. Not many mosquitos either; a very pleasant and interesting day.
