Album of Glacier View Field Trip

Selected photos by Rod Crawford and Laurel Ramseyer from our 23 July 2015 spider collecting trip with Marie Rose Vanshravendijk to the Glacier View Trail, west of Mount Rainier (just outside the national park), Pierce County, Washington. The name refers to views of glaciers on the west side of Mt. Rainier (when clouds permit). We negotiated a long, bumpy road to the trailhead; the trail took us due north over 3 peaks along a ridge crest, through impressive subalpine old growth. Most of the best collecting was from dead wood and litter habitats in the forest, including some great finds. In all, 25 species rewarded our efforts. See Laurel's account of the day too!
