Album of Napavine Prairie (Evaline) Field Trip
Selected photos from the spider collecting field trip to a prairie-like site at Evaline, Lewis County, Washington, on 18 November 2008, with Laurel Ramseyer and
Rod Crawford. Photos by both, as credited.
This is one of the potential collecting sites I spotted from an Amtrak train during my trip to Longview the previous month. On public railroad right-of-way land, it might be a remnant of Napavine Prairie which once existed in this area – or an old orchard now succeeding back toward natural prairie vegetation. In any case, there were lots of spiders, including some uncommon species, but nothing new was taken this trip.
